CAGE RAGE 21

Mark Weir defeated japanese fighter Daijiro Matsui at Cage Rage 21.

Mark used his speed and strength have a strong kick-boxing background to claim a unanimous judge's decision in front of a sell-out crowd and the Sky Sports one television.

Matsui's main line of attack was a series of forward rolls and cartwheels in the attempt to draw Mark to the ground. In round one, the technique earned Matsui  the opportunity to reverse and slam Mark into the Mat.

He made an attempt at a leg lock, but Weir's experience was evident as he repeatedly escaped his ground attacks. By round two and three the referee was repeatedly forcing the action back to a standing position.

Weir's efforts included a number of high kicks to the head and some strong holds of Matsui's back, in the attempt to finish him on the ground.

With repeated blows to the head and body, the judges awarded Weir an impressive triumph.
